For this very special anniversary dinner, 18th Street Arts Center has asked the radical and remarkably insightful American art critic Dave Hickey to be the guest speaker. Hickey is known for his crisp and engaging essays, which demonstrate his trademark flair for mental gymnastics as they challenge the structures and beliefs of mainstream culture. We believe Hickey’s work provokes democratic discussion of the art that does or does not move us. It is truly a match made in heaven.
